This time of year, it seems like our schedules never slow down. Between work, business meetings, graduations, baby showers, bridal showers, dinner parties, social brunches, there’s just always something going on. Why not take a break from all the madness and give yourself something to really look forward to this summer? We’ve been working on our bodies all winter long, time to pick a beach destination to show it off!
Aside from it being the homeland of our fave Caribbean girl Riri, this white sanded paradise is bound to leave a lasting impression on you. While the hospitable culture and delicious local food are a plus, I mainly go to kick back with a rum punch (or three) in hand as I take in the spectacular views. For those of you who have never had the luxury of enjoying a Bajan rum punch, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s the ultimate blend of sour, sweet, and strong- definitely my go to drink to sip on while soaking up some rays on the beach.
As far as hotels are concerned, there are many to choose from; however, my personal recommendation is the Hilton Barbados Resort. This four star hotel is conveniently located just 25 minutes away from the airport.
No matter which room you are in, you are guaranteed a breathtaking view whether it be of the beach front, the pools, or the bay. The rooms are nice and modern, although let’s be real you probably won’t be spending much time in there.
Depending on the season, I have found specials for as low as $113 a night on Trip Advisor. Now some of you might find this to be a tad bit pricey, but we’ve got you covered- boughetto fab style. The money you invest in a nice resort, you make up for in cheap airfare at JustFly– you’re welcome 😉
The best time to visit the island is around carnival which, lucky for us, falls right at the end of July into the beginning of August. Also known as “crop over”, this festival brings a wealth of gorgeous costumes, delicious street food, and good Calypso and Soca music across the entire island. A party girl’s dream come true from sun up to sun down back to sun up again, for days on end.
If you have already visited the island, we would love to hear what you enjoyed most about Barbados in the comment section.
